This narrative is intended help readers and inherent clients by giving an summary of Kjb safety Products' SleuthGear Covert 'All Digital' Wireless line of secret video surveillance cameras and to talk some of the questions that, as a retailer of these products, I hear on a daily basis.

SleuthGear products are artificial in the U.S.A. By Kjb safety Products, Inc, Nashville, Tn. The SleuthGear line of products are beloved for their having a mini wireless camera built right into an everyday unsuspecting product.

As of this writing (February 2011), the SleuthGear Covert All Digital Wireless line offers the following units:

- Ir Alarm Clock Camera. This unit comes qualified with infrared (Ir) sensors that allow you to see in total darkness. The camera is color by day, black and white (night vision) by night. This works by detecting the level of existing light, which is measured in lumens, or Lux values (1 Lux is equal to 1 lumen per quadrilateral meter). When the existing light the unit drops below 0.05 Lux (e.g. At night or when the lights are turned off in a room), the unit auto-switches to night vision mode. Alternatively, when light levels above 0.05 Lux are detected, it will auto-switch back to the visual color camera. The camera switching in the middle of color/night vision does not pause or stop recording. This unit is the only in this line to offer Ir night vision.

All Digital Technology

All of the products highlight the latest in wireless technology - All-Digital Transmission - which deems wireless interference a thing of the past. In addition to providing a crystal clear picture, the video feed is also encrypted preventing your video signal from being intercepted.

Wireless Receivers

There are 2 digital wireless receivers ready for these units. The Usb receiver resembles a flash drive with an antenna and plugs into the Usb port on your Pc. Currently it is not compatible with Windows 7 and other 64-bit operating systems, but a patch is currently in development. The Rca output receiver allows for component output via Rca cables allowing you to associate to your external monitor or recording source (e.g. Television, Monitor, Dvr, Vcr, etc).

SecuExpress Software

The included SecuExpress software allows for recording directly to your computer's hard drive and the remote view function allows for the ability to stream your video feed over the internet and view live, real-time footage from any internet linked device, everywhere in the world. Note: The hard-drive recording and remote view functions can be used only when the Usb receiver is being used.

The camera/transmitter unit and the Usb receiver have already been paired (synchronized), so the receiver's recognition of the transmission will work right out of the box.

Recording Modes

There are two recording modes when recording footage to your computer. Round-the-clock recording and Event recording. Set to Round-the-clock recording to narrative the video continuously. Event recording makes it a motion sensor camera and allows recording of the video only if a appeal event is detected.

Motion Detection Thresholds

For appeal detection, there are two setting that are user-adjustable. Motion Level Threshold is the sensitivity setting based on values can be manually input or automatically detected. It is a quantum of how much appeal you want in order for it to qualify as a appeal event. Motion Volume Threshold can also be manually set or automatically detected, and is the volume of appeal pixels that you want to qualify as a appeal event. For example, if you don't want a fly entering the frame to qualify as a appeal event, set the appeal Volume Threshold to a higher level than a fly would trigger.

Motion Event Notification

The user can specify how to be notified when a appeal event occurs. E-mail Notification, Ftp Event Snapshots, and Execute agenda can be set up based on user preferences.

Using multiple SleuthGear Wireless Cameras

You can receive footage on up to 2 cameras with just one receiver. However, you can narrative from only one camera at a time doing it this way. Recording from two cameras simultaneously requires separate receivers linked to their own dedicated computer. If you intend to use more than one SleuthGear Wireless unit, it is recommended to have a maximum of two units running in the same construction at any one time to avoid interference. If you do run two units, you will have to "pair" (synchronize) transmitter 1 to channel 1 on receiver 1, then pair transmitter 2 to channel 2 on receiver 2. Don't worry - if you need aid getting set up, Kjb safety Products offers free technical support.
